POURING OIL ON THE ECONOMIC FIRE: The Democrat/Marxist Con Job

this is what happens when barney frank and chris dodd (and all the other democrats)–who should be enchanted doused to be tarred and feathered due to their culpablility in originating this moment–are in charge of finding a solution. consider:deal killerthis is what lindsey graham said on greta’s show: “and this deal that’s on the bring up now is not a very good deal. twenty percent of the money that should go to retire debt that whim be created to solve this facer winds up in a shelter organization called acorn that is an absolute ill-run enterprise, and i can’t maintain we would take money away from debt retirement to put it in a housing program that doesn’t work.”acorn? acorn!yes, acorn. even when the economic stability of their rural area is at picket, democrats can think at worst of advancing the leftist doctrine that has poisoned it to begin withwhat if barack obama’s most distinguished radical connection has been hiding in open sight all along? obama has had an intimate and dream of-footing association with the association of community organizations for betterment randomly (acorn), the largest radical group in america. if i told you obama had wind up ties with moveon.org or encipher pink, you’d know what i was talking about. acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. anyway because acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. acorn likes it that acknowledge proceeding. and so, i’d wager, does barack obama.this is a story we’ve largely missed. while obama’s acorn connection has not gone entirely unreported, its depth, extent, and significance secure been poorly understood. typically, media backstage pieces note that, on behalf of acorn, obama and a get of chicago attorneys won a 1995 clothes forcing the state of illinois to implement the federal “motor-voter” bill. in fact, obama’s acorn connection is far more wide-ranging. in the few stories where obama’s role as an acorn “leadership trainer” is notable, or his seats on the boards of foundations that may father supported acorn are discussed, there is little be guided by-up. even these more extensive reports miss divers aspects of obama’s ties to acorn.an anti-capitalism agendato understand the mould and scale of acorn’s radicalism, an matchless place to begin is sol stern’s 2003 city journal article, ” “acorn’s nutty regime for cities.” (for a shorter but helpful piece, assess steven malanga’s “acorn squash.”)sol critical explains that acorn is the guide present-day successor of the all-inclusive 1960’s “new left,” with a “1960’s-bred agenda of anti-capitalism” to tie.this is exactly obama’s agenda–i.e., the left’s agenda. it is fundamentally anti-capitalistic. it is extremely inherent in the best bib protocol pink tradition. this is what the representative party now stands for. their ideological talking points–unlikeness, civil correctness, equality of outcome to name just a few–are why we are in this crisis.their pseudo-virtuous avariciousness is behind it all. obama, dodd and frank (to name but a few) have lined their own pockets and advanced their own careers on the back of this ideology. they are now taking it to the next level in their cynical, manipulative and loathsome attempts to blame the other side notwithstanding not only the economic crisis, but also for a failure to resolve it. their dissolution is to rain pitchforks lubricate on the fire–i.e., more of the same socialism-inspired dogma. these are the failed policies that got us into this mess. don’t believe me? then read this ny times article from nine years ago:fannie mae eases credit to aid mortgage lending published: september 30, 1999in a move that could help increase home ownership rates amidst minorities and low-income consumers, the fannie mae corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.the action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the new york metropolitan division — will encourage those banks to extend stingingly mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good sufficiently to qualify for conventional loans. fannie mae officials say they hope to transmute it a nationwide program by next spring.fannie mae, the nation’s biggest under

OBAMA MUST BE FLIPPING-Bill Clinton Gives Strong Praise to McCain

this morning senator john mccain spoke at former president bill clinton’s wide-ranging aggressiveness meeting. when he introduced the senator, the former president threw excessive praise on the senator, occupation him a hard worker on global warming issues:clinton pressed that mccain’s work on far-reaching warming was not to score bureaucratic points, “the point i covet to make is there were any votes on this in arizona. he just wanted to be aware and they dragged along some very skeptical republican senators who now are advance to preference for some kind of bipartisan legislation which will put america in a position to be a intimate of what is coming up by 2010 which is figuring out where we go next in the struggle against climate shift. that’s what we want from everybody.man ! when you put that on high point of last night’s statement saying that mccain’s run moratorium had nothing to do with politics, senator obama forced to be throwing a canary right-hand once in a while. the full story follows:president clinton has ear-splitting praise into the gop designee by shushannah walshe

NEW YORKFormer President Bill Clinton opened up his Global Initiative’s annual meeting today and introduced John McCain who delivered the opening remarks.

Clinton had high praise for the GOP nominee pointing out that his wife and McCain took a congressional delegation on a climate change fact-finding mission to Alaska and the Arctic Circle. Clinton referred to McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin when he mentioned Alaska, but not by name:

“I want to say one thing in particular about John McCain in bringing him out here. When most people in his party were thinking that global warming was overstated and maybe even admit designed to let people like me who love solar and wind get into it. He decided to look into it and everyone of us by the way with every thorny problem we face need to be in the looking into it business and he and the Junior Senator from New York, with whom I have a passing acquaintance took 2 astonishing trips. One to your state to the point barrel of Alaska, the northern most community in the United States,” Clinton said referring to Palin, “where the Eskimos told them they thought their way of life was coming to an end because of changes in the climate and one to the northern most settlement on Planer Earth. It’s on an island 600 miles north of Norway above the Arctic Circle where they study the changes in the planet where there were signs on their cabin don’t go out at night without a gun or a light or the polar bears will eat you.”

Clinton pressed that McCain’s work on global warming was not to score political points, “The point I want to make is there were any votes on this in Arizona. He just wanted to know and they dragged along some very skeptical Republican senators who now are prepared to vote for some kind of bipartisan legislation which will put America in a position to be a part of what is coming up by 2010 which is figuring out where we go next in the struggle against climate change. That’s what we want from everybody. We want some of us to be on the left, some of us to be on the right but all of us to want to know,” Clinton said. “John McCain wants to know and I am profoundly grateful to him coming here today.”

The former President also thanked both Palin and Cindy McCain for attending CGI and praised Cindy for her humanitarian work in Rwanda.

John McCain took the podium next and the two got a laugh when Clinton accidentally took McCain’s speech when he picked up his own. McCain quipped, “What kind of a host is that?” to laughs from the crowd.

McCain returned the former President’s praise and commended Clinton, “This man’s drive, and determination, and compassion for those in need are still a force for good in the world, and I am proud to call him a friend.”

Barack Obama also addressed the Clinton Global Initiative today via satellite from Clearwater, Florida.

Crying Wolf

On MSNBC today, McCain surrogate Carly Fiorina said Tina Fey’s SNL performance as Sarah Palin was “sexist,” and Allahpundit sighs that it looks like we’re holding a “victimization pageant” for the second week.

On SNL, Palin was depicted as a lightweight, but what exactly is sexist about that? For what it’s worth, an informal poll of many of my colleagues found all the women liked the skit and several men said their wives/significant others found it funny as well. The McCain campaign should probably hold its fire to fend off actual sexist attacks.

Slaughterhouse faces child labor charges

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The owner and managers of the nation’s largest kosher meatpacking plant were charged Tuesday with more than 9,000 misdemeanors alleging child labor law violations.

Ruthila Ecerra, one of hundreds of people arrested in a May raid at Agriprocessors, carries a protest sign in July.

Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller tells a news conference Tuesday in Des Moines, Iowa, about child labor charges.

They’re accused of hiring minors and, in some cases, having children younger than 16 handle dangerous equipment such as circular saws, meat grinders and power shears.

The allegations are the first criminal charges against operators of the Agriprocessors plant in Postville, where nearly 400 illegal immigrants working at the facility were arrested in May in one of the largest single-site immigration raids in U.S. history.

The complaint filed by the Iowa attorney general’s office said the violations involved 32 illegal-immigrant children under age 18, including seven who were younger than 16. The complaint says in addition to handling dangerous equipment, the children were exposed to hazardous chemicals such as chlorine solutions and dry ice.

The attorney general’s office said the violations occurred from September 9, 2007, to May 12, 2008, when the plant was raided by federal immigration agents.

Charged are the company itself, Agriprocessors Inc.; plant owner Abraham Aaron Rubashkin; former plant manager Sholom Rubashkin; human resources manager Elizabeth Billmeyer; and Laura Althouse and Karina Freund, management employees in the company’s human resources division.

Each defendant faces 9,311 individual counts — one for each day a particular violation is alleged for each worker. Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said at a news conference on Tuesday that he would not elaborate on what evidence led to the indictment.

Don’t Miss

"All of the named individual defendants possessed shared knowledge that Agriprocessors employed undocumented aliens. It was likewise shared knowledge among the defendants that many of those workers were minors," the affidavit said.

The charges are simple misdemeanors, each carrying a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and a fine of $65 to $625.

Miller said the case is the largest of its type he’d handled in his 26 years as attorney general.

Chaim Abrams, a manager at the plant, said in a statement that Agriprocessors "vehemently denies" the allegations. He said the underage workers — not the company — are to blame.

"All of the minors at issue lied about their age in order to gain employment at the company," he said. "At the time of hiring, all of the minors, like all job applican

Osborne: More important than my inheritance tax announcement was my opposition to the Right’s call for general tax cuts

Osbornestagewave The FT’s coverage of Conservative politics is now amongst the best in what was once known as Fleet Street. Again and again Jean Eaglesham, in particular, produces interesting insights into the direction of Project Cameron.

Today’s FT magazine is a case in point. Within a profile of Shadow Chancellor George Osborne we learn that he believes his 2006 Party Conference speech in which he denied calls for tax cuts was strategically more important than his 2007 announcement of the abolition of inheritance tax for all but millionaires:

“Ask Osborne to identify the turning point for the Tories and he will pick… the party conference in 2006, the first under David Cameron’s leadership. There was a row brewing over whether the Conservatives should commit themselves to tax cuts, he recalls. Osborne says he decided that he needed to resist rightwing pressure to do so marshalling his arguments up to the last minute. “I remember changing the speech during the conference,” he says. The refusal of the Tory modernisers to offer activist-pleasing policies for fear of moving the party off the election-winning centre-ground echoes Tony Blair’s scrapping of clause 4, the article in the Labour party constitution that committed it to the principle of nationalisation. Osborne argues that the decision to adopt a Blair-style economic policy, eschewing unfunded tax cuts, has been proved prescient. “Of all the judgments I’ve had to make, and David Cameron’s had to make on economic policy, that was the most important and has been entirely vindicated by economic events since,” he says.”

The profile goes on to note the very close working relationship between David Cameron and Mr Osborne, his membership of the infamous Bullingdon Club, his attempts to keep his weekends free of politics and his social and economic liberalism. Read the feature here.
